Today is World Mental Health Awareness day. This yearly event created by WHO (The World Health Organisation) is celebrated around the world to raise awareness of mental health issues In honor of this I would like to share a selection of Mental Health websites, blogs, videos and information that I have found interesting/useful since my own diagnosis with Borderline Personality Disorder.

Did you know:

  • 1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year
  • Suicides rates show that British men are three times as likely to die by suicide than British women
  • Self-harm statistics for the UK show one of the highest rates in Europe: 400 per 100,000 population

  5. I realize I’m a year late, but this are simply fascinating statistics. I’m familiar with many American mental health statistics–but the British perspective is fascinating.
